“Cancer patients call to overhaul stem cell donor recruitment”. Blood cancer patients who require a bone marrow transplant have long struggled to find a DNA match and 85 per cent of patients rely on international registries. Now, there are calls to change the way donors are recruited in Australia, including the use of cheek swabs to find tissue matches.
